NBA Draft Thursday

http://www.nbadraft.net/2009mock_draft

Wish I could copy and paste the mock draft, but the formatting gets all screwed up. Some of the interesting points:

Rubio 2 to Memphis.
Thabeet drops to 6 to Minnesota.
Harden's workout numbers apparently now have him going 3 to Oklahoma City (doesn't make sense to me, that team needs Thabeet).
Steph Curry off the board before the Knicks to Kings, also seems stupid to pair him with Kevin Martin, talk about a frail backcourt.
Knicks take Tyreke Evans - would like it.
Hansbrough up to 12 to Charlotte.
Flynn to Suns would be fun.
Budinger was once being projected top-10 is now 22 to Dallas (finally realized he isnt a top-10 player?).
After Rubio there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in the foreign players this year.

Discuss.

  1. This draft stinks. Outside Griffin, Harden, Flynn and Thabeet dont see any serious contributors. Dont see the rubio hype..too soft. Reke Evans has no position limited ceiling in my opinion. If Flynn is taken outside top 10 NBA GMs should be fired. Harden has an NBA game and so does Thabeet. Griffin is too good of a finisher not to be a relevant nba player. If OKC doesnt go Thabeet it would be just a terrible decision. Flynn or curry to the knicks hopefully just so im not bored to death by knicks games this yr.

  2. Curtis -

Love how you of all people continue to criticize Rubio for being a softy Euro, guess you only like the 6-10 softy Euro's.

I like Rubio personally, Steve Nash is an unavoidable comparison..but I simply think he's a playmaker...always hard to grade out a player like him so the risk is obviously there, but given his youth and performances at such a high level I think we're looking at a contributing player at worst, and a possible top-tier PG for years to come.

    Do like Flynn of course.

Thabeet is the safest pick in this draft, agreed that OKC would be incredibly stupid not to take him.

Still maintain Harden is a bust, I don't care how he graded out I've never seen him flash NBA athleticism with the rock in his hand. Crafty as can be and may turn into Paul Pierce, his production is impossible to ignore...I still think Griffin, Rubio and Thabeet and warrant being drafted ahead of him...and Jennings, Evans and a couple others are possibly still ahead in my eyes.

  3. If your going to be soft, you might as well be 6'10 and shoot the fucking lights out. Rubio is not 6'10, nor can he shoot. Throw him out.
