Weekend Round-Up

For at least a little while fans got this Tom Watson.

Ultimately, however, this Tom Watson reared its ugly head.

Say what you want about what a great story Tom Watson and the British Open was this weekend. It bored me and everyone else to tears. Even the playoff was fittingly boring. Watson completely choked. His putt on 18 was laughable, he didn't even give himself a chance to win it. And Mike Tirico's, "Thank you Tom Watson, for making sure we will never forget this year's British Open" elicited a laugh out of me at least. Hilarious, this open was terrible and dry. It was like a tennis tournament with no Federer or Nadal. And was Phil Mickelson not somewhere cursing his wife? Really? Stewart Cink and Tom Watson? This would have been a perfect opportunity for lefty.

As the trade deadline approaches, nothing has yet to happen with Roy Halladay. It's somewhat hard to imagine him not either staying in Toronto or heading to Philly. Anyway, Halladay fresh off dominating the Bo Sox can't hurt his trade value. In the meantime, Felipe Lopez was traded from the Nats to the Brew Crew, who finally realized that Craig Counsell is a huge drop-off from Rickie Weeks.

We celebrated the 40th anniversary of us not going to the moon.

Oh and some no-name (ie, any cyclist not named Lance Armstrong) is leading the Tour de Who the Fuck Cares.
