Home Run Derby and Celebrity All Star Game

Good to see Prince Fielder win it. The man was hitting some mammoth blasts. And there is no way there is a more fun player to watch in a home run derby. He swings so big, every time. Nelson Cruz actually probably hit the prettiest balls for what that's worth. Still not sure why Bud Selig didn't call me before Brandon Inge. Glad to see the NL get the win after the embarrassment of a lineup the AL flew in with.

As for all the ball tracking stuff. Let's face it, the ball tracker was juiced. Balls landing about 20 steps past second base were being charted at 345 feet. And apparently Prince Fielder hit a 503 foot knuckle ball. Consider me skeptical.

As for the rules, using total home runs, it's stupid. The second round was a complete bore. If you're going to set it up tournament style, then each round needs to be a clean slate. Otherwise just have everyone hit two rounds and the top score wins.

Nelly winning the Celebrity All Star Game might be a bigger comeback spot than me making the Dean's List. All I really saw was the final play where Ashanti got doubled up on a routine fly ball to center field. Terrible baserunning, would expect Ashanti to be a cerebral player on the basepaths. Guess not.

  1. Nelly winning the all-star game really is a huge comeback. It is about time he brought something back to the city of St.Louis since his hit record Country Grammar back in the day.

  2. No surprise here, Nelly is a flat out stud. Id go to war with him any day.

  3. What's worse is Ashanti used to run track in high school. She's an athelete for god's sake!
