Afternoon Notes

I get a call from Mulldog today who tells me as he posted earlier that he is at the local OTB and nailed 5 straight races at the track. He was confident he had the field down cold and was looking for the improbably 9 for 9 day. Just like you never mention a perfect game in baseball, Mulldog's phone call had done him in. Race 6 was a loser, and so is Mulldog.

Tatum Bell of the UFL's Florida Tuskers has come out today and said that his squad is better and could beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! Let's get this game to happen! Bell predicted a 24-14 Tuskers victory, and watching the Buccs play this year, could he be that wrong?
Thought in all reality the Buccs would spank the Tuskers, can we get the UFL champions to play the worst NFL team in the pewchbowl at the end of the year? Tell me you are not watching it.

Las Vegas Locomotives opened up the first ever game in UFL history with a convincing 30-17 victory over the California RedWoods.

Total fans in attendance at Sam Boyd Stadium (home of the UNLV Running Rebels) was just over 14,000. Not entirely shabby I must say.

As for the real story, and the significance to the Pewch Revolution, J.P Losman has started his comeback bid to the NFL in great fashion. 21-31, 226 passing yards, 2 tds...LEGIT.

Not much else to say really except Losman and Fassel have to be the favorites to take the UFL Championship this year. Fassel was quoted as saying, “Our defense stepped up to the plate big time...“The things that we didn’t do well at the end of the day we can coach. It was a good football game. It wasn’t sloppy. It was hard hitting. It was what people want to see.”

It must be hard for Fassel to give press quotes and not think in his head "what has my life come to."

Dennis Green, Coach of the Redwoods, continues his losing ways and drops to 0-1, though most could see this loss coming, after all...
